Post subject: Eeeek - flopped flush facing intense flop action

Villain is very loose preflop, makes these donkish minraises preflop a lot. He has an AF of 1.7 so he isn't all that aggro postflop but he's not passive neither. Can I lay this down or do I have to go broke here?

I close my eyes and push, hoping utg has a hand like AdAx or AdKx or KK. I think you need to go broke here. If you had the lowest flush, then there would be more of an argument for folding.

If he's really loose he could very well have a smaller flush. Combined with the possibility of set/pair+draw etc. makes this a push IMO. Only A x/QJ beats you.

i shove my stack in the middle, minimize the table and if the table pops up to reload i do so.

Hmm, thought this would get more responses, I thought this was a very interesting hand.
Anyways, I had a good read on this player and really felt his check min raise was a monster into a bettor and a raiser, so I reluctantly folded. Unfortunately, the CO mucked as well and the hand never got shown down. I asked in the chat what he had and told me he flopped the nuts, and I believed him. Definitely one of my biggest laydown ever.
Another factor in laying this down was that my best case scenario is the Ad or a set, but in neither case am I big favorite to win the hand, where as if I'm up against a higher flush I'm drawing dead.

Hm. Very very tough hand imo. God knows if dood had nuts...
What if you had flopped bottom set? How would you have reacted to the pandemonium after your bet? (not sure if this is considered hijacking your thread or what, but it's the question that came to mind.)

I for one agree with your decision. At best you'll not be a "huge" favorite, and in the worst case you are dead. You haven't invested too much yet, so get out and wait for a better spot to put your stack in the middle..

i think calling and shoving a safe turn is better than shoving flop, but im not sure if either one is better than folding

gabe i am surprised to hear you don't advocate for a push here, given your well documented propensity to get it all in. can you tell us why? i am in line w/ jonny_fish's reasoning, and a lot of times AdKo or AoQd are inclined to play for stacks with their nice draw on top of the TPTK. hero has the 10 so it beats out any of the middle SCs like 56-89d who would also call.
