goddamnit anyway.

i had lost a big hand right before this one, doubling up SB. so i was shortstacked a little. not sure if anyone thought i was steaming or not, if that matters. i dont raise Axs UTG often, but i hadn't been raising as often as i would like prior to this so i have a pretty solid image.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP ($781.30)
CO ($192.40)
Button ($543.10)
SB ($387.90)
BB ($570.20)
Hero ($196.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, 7.
Hero raises to $14, 3 folds, SB calls $12, 1 fold.

Flop: ($32) J, 9, A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $24, SB calls $24.

Turn: ($80) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $45, SB folds.

Final Pot: $125

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $125.

nothing wrong with a bet here. If he has nothing he has nothing.

isn't he more liekly to call a smallish river bet than a smallish turn bet, or better yet, take a stab? what exactly could i possibly worry about catching up that doesn't already have me bent over?

i'm also more likely to get a call from someone who thinks i'm bluffing on the river than i am to get that same kind of call on the turn. especially since they very well could put me on steam after the previous hand.

this had to be one of my worst plays of the night. the difference between checking and betting the turn is not small here.

Don't be so harsh on yourself, he didn't have an A, and probably didn't have a flush draw. Otherwise he would have called that turn bet. And unless he's a total fish/donk, you're not getting that much more out of him.

If anything, maybe bet less on the turn.
