    Default does this ever end?

villain is 22/15/2.5 over 1000 hands.

it seems at 25NL, you should fold to any aggression on the flop or turn if villains aggression has happened after you've been aggressive.

is that just re tarded to say? i dunno i suck. i fold when i should call and call when i should fold... its funner than way.

Nh...nit picking I'd bet a little less on flop but this is fine without reads.

Flop bet is totally fine and standard, as is the rest. I'm guessing with those stats and the general tone here that he showed up with KK or AA? For the odds you're getting at that point, and the chance that he's decided to overplay TT/JJ or something like that, I wouldn't fold the queens.

this is fine, just a coolerish hand. At 25NL ppl make so many mistakes I like raising to at least $5.50. If he has a set he made the mistake, not you. You can't fold.

If he had AA/KK then NH to him

another example. i show aggression pre flop and on the flop... the villain is playing back ALOT.

You want to be careful with over-pairs on low flops. You also want to realize that until these micro-stakes villains prove otherwise, they consider any over pair to be the nuts, so your queens are good, and you can fist pump when you get it in (in both hands).

    options
    1) raise more pf
    2) stop stacking off on flops with a bunch of low cards
    3) take a break from poker

here is what i'm confused about.

i keep hearing "call, get it in, etc..."

and in all these situations i'm smoked.

so i keep hearing that i'm doing the right thing... but i keep getting pwned in these spots.

but if i fold i'm supposedly missing value.

i heard once that repeating the same action over and over and expecting different results is insanity. does this apply to poker too?

No it does not. Or I should say it has to be very selectively applied. In poker we learn to keep playing strong hands strong, even if the results don't always pan out.

Most beginners make the mistake of being 'results oriented', where they adapt their strategy to their most recent results. So if they just lost their stack with a K high flush to an A high flush, the next time they get a K high flush they're more likely to fold it, even if their opponent is a maniac spewtard who's pushing air.

Firstly, leave poker alone for a week. Go play some sports or computer games or whatever else you might be into. Come back, and if I were you, I'd drop down to 10NL until you are the one doing the pwning. Just some humbly offered advice.

yes i agree completely. its just that i'm posting these hands where most everyone agrees a call or push is good. many of the situations are the same. i've been aggressive pre or post flop and villain doesn't give a shit about my aggression or the board and wants to get it all in. at some point don't i need to learn that when villain does XYZ... TPTK/ big over pairs are no good?

Think longterm. You're being very results oriented. You played every hand perfectly. Except possibly that KK hand on the dry flop. Even then it's not bad to get it in depending on who you're up against.

You are experiencing a kind of varience where you're not getting sucked out on, you're just running into the top of their range every time. Think about how much more of their range there is that you beat they'd play the exact same way. Yeah there's times you run into a better hand. But in the long run that's less than the amount of times you run into a worse hand.

I know what you're going through. I started my fair share of "Fold KK preflop?" threads because all I ever ran into was aces. It's wrong to think that way.

Like everyone said, take a break. Not because you played these poorly, but these are very tilt inducing situations you're in and will affect your other pots.

Regards moving down to 10NL despite playing the hands right, I moved up to 25NL from 10NL at the beginning of the last month and basically ran awful. Countless KK vs AA, overpairs vs sets, sets vs oversets and simply getting sucked out on. I found it really hard to deal with and looking back at some of those sessions I can see how it was affecting my play - although at the time I couldnt see it.

I've dropped back to 10NL - theres no shame in doing so. And so far its going alright. Like people have said, take a break or something, clear your head and get back to your A game.

    Good luck mate.
  24. #24
What I don't understand is how you think you're doing bad yet your stack is 200BBs+ in half these hands...you had to do something right to get to those points (unless you just luckboxed your way there). I agree with everyone else, most of these look totally standard and you're just being results-oriented. Btw, what is your image at these tables?

Also, moving down shouldn't be viewed as a bad thing...it enables you to work on your game at a smaller cost to you. Don't view it as "you suck so move down to the noobtard level lol"
  25. #25
    how's this?

tired of stacking off with QQ+ over pair post flop.

i got like 3k hands on this guy.

cold calls 9% of the time. he's 23/8/3.8

i don't have a read on what he's stacking off with. i'd assume AK... which isn't likely given my hand... but KQ KJ KT are likely.... dunno if's he's stacking off with them. so i'm thinking about value and a set... flush.
