25/6/.5
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1

Converter
Stack sizes:
UTG: $97.10
Hero: $99.50
CO: $100.90
Button: $50.35
SB: $102.10
BB: $108.10
Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with A Q
UTG folds, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, SB raises to $7, BB folds, Hero calls.

SB checks, Hero checks.
Turn: T ($15, 2 players)

My thoughts: Raise more on turn to around 50.... push river?

The 0.5 aggression factor leads me to believe that he has a hand (like a set or a Q) on the turn, not a flush draw. I wouldn't be too afraid of the flush, and I would definitely bet the river to extract value from the range of second best hands he is likely to have.

Hm I see your dilemma.
If you push your halfpot bet in, youre getting called by weaker Qs and the flush. Probably not by KJ, KT, TT, 99 etc etc.
$25 valuebet?

FWIW, you can value bet this all day because he'll go allin with his made flush here like 90% of the time he hits it. You can prlly value bet many hands on this river.

I know what you mean. I read in cocco_bills stats check/blog a good post talking about this. I've been trying more and more lately to learn new ways to pick up more small pots and get extra turn/river value...it's so much trickier (but also more fun) than just making a set or something and betting pot.

Don't take too much offense to this, but this is one of the worst river checks I've seen in my life. He minreraises you preflop with 25/6 stats, when is this not some kind of pair? I just don't understand your logic for checking behind. On this board he either has a set or a lower straight pretty much every time, maybe AK. You have to be able to value bet this and not think twice about it, a shove here is not thin by any means. This was a tuff_fish like check behind scared of some extremely unlikely backdoor flush.

This really looks like AK, with a missed C/R on flop. I try not to give credit for back door flushes. I bet 30-50 on this river.

I would bet 1/2, not push. Like Genitruc says - they are pushing over with a flush and probably calling with a set or lower straight and maybe calling with two pair.
Every time you are involved in a hand where you feel ahead, you must take a breath and think about the best way to maximize your return.
