I'm not sure if my pre-flop re-raise was sound and then post-flop, I felt I was too passive but didn't want to bluff as he'd called me pre. Any comments welcome.

Sucks, when you check down to the river gotta fold, I'd probably just shove the flop though since he's a shorty.

Your bet sizing pre is fine. I agree with the rest just put him in on the flop. You are way ahead here more often then not. Although the river is a fold as played.
