If he's a thinking nit then this is a sick sick play.

If he sux like most nits then I don't like it.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Whats with the min raises these days? It happened so often at Full Tilt the other night that I had to do a double take and make sure I hadnt sat at limit tables by mistake. Sickening.
I think you make a great play there and hes folding his 77-QQ.

think of 2p2. Then consider which hands they are not folding, like ever, because they think that hand strength+HUD= never fold a set.

Then ask yourself why nits suck.

I can see what your representing, but a nit wont, hes incapable of folding any strong hand ever except a big pp facing aggression.

I love doing this on low boards, because usually you see a 6 or a weak overpair here. but i'd rather do it against a loose weak player (or is that what this player is? Whenevr i hear nit i think tight pre).

If he's a bad nit, then not only does he not use a wild image to get paid off, but he's afraid of "not getting paid" when he does have a big hand.

So he does lame stuff like minraising. It's usually a hand he'd never fold in a million years.

If he's a "good" nit, he's :

-capable of using his image to bluff

-unlikely to pull of the stupid minraise crap when it's for value (since you're "supposed" to think he's nitty hence raising here for value it's a good bluff)

Not sure if that's clear.

so a bad nit isn't checkgayraising 99 here and then folding to clear strength on a scary turn?

The player Renton is up against is perfectly capable of min-raising a wide range on the flop. Check/min-raising on a board like this is rapidly becoming part of the meta-game in small stakes PS.

The problem I see here, is exactly what hand is he trying to sell the other guy he has? AK doesn't often play like this often enough. TT-QQ doesn't either. It looks like either the nuts or a bluff if he's a really good hand reader.

In my experience nits are usually very cautious when a scare cards hits and they are beat, the K here qualifies. Villain here did not feel that either you hold a K or that any single K beats him. I would have folded this turn instead of trying to rep a stronger hand than he is already representing.

He's only a nit preflop. He's pretty aggressive postflop, at least in the ~1000 hands I have on him.
