This is the biggest pot I've ever lost and by far the worst hand i've ever played. Villian is 45/1/0.83 but his river aggression is a 3.00. The second i clicked raise on the river i punched myself...i put him on a straight draw...but for some reason behond me I didn't consider the fact that he could have 2 hearts with it....doh! Ignoring my retarded river push, am I setting myself up for disaster with my turn bet? I didn't think about the implied odds I was giving him with the stack sizes, should I have potted the turn?

Why only 1/2 pot c-bets this deep? Building a pot faster would have gotten more money in with the best of it.

The river raise is pretty bad.

Renton will become famous soon enough
i bet 9 preflop, 3/4 pot on the flop, 3/4 pot on the turn, and I call the river bet.

There's very little value in raising the river, cuz I doubt anything but a flush is calling all in.

There's no way you are getting away from your hand, but you could have avoided getting stacked by just calling here (obv).

However, had you bet harder on the flop and turn, the pot may have got so big that he might have pushed the river and you'd have still gotten stacked.

That is how deep stacks get de-stacked. Don't raise a deep stack all in on the river without the nuts at 200NL unless you're on some kind of bluff. Nobody is gonna call without em. Its kind of like this hand that I played like a fucktard yesterday:

Total number of players : 2
Seat 2: villain ( $941.55 )
Seat 3: hero ( $633.50 )
villain posts small blind [$2].
hero posts big blind [$4].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to hero [ Ts Td ]
villain raises [$13].
hero raises [$41].
villain raises [$65].
hero calls [$35].
** Dealing Flop ** [ 8c, 2h, Tc ]
villain checks.
hero checks.
** Dealing Turn ** [ Ad ]
villain checks.
hero bets [$100].
villain raises [$200].
hero calls [$100].
** Dealing River ** [ 3d ]
villain bets [$225].
hero is all-In.
villain calls [$128.50].
villain shows [ Ah, As ] three of a kind, aces.
hero doesn't show [ Ts, Td ] three of a kind, tens.

Ugly stuff. Horrible river raise. Stop letting your grandmother play on your account.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I'll play middle set on an uncoordinated board for 150xbbs HU any day of the week.

No, I butchered that hand, ill copy paste my reasoning from my blog:

Quote:
First of all, I was planning on finding a new table instead of playing this guy heads up. He is a solid tight regular and was not a good money making opportunity for me. I decide to play a few hands anyways and this one comes up.

Second of all, I should have bet that flop. I knew he was aiming for a checkraise with either aces or kings or AK of clubs. Why didn't I grant him that opportunity?? I don't know. Why let a scare card fall when the pot was still small compared to our stacks? I don't know.

Third, it became plain as day what he had on the turn yet I still paid it off. Not a chance in hell he had KK, not a chance in hell he had AK, and not a chance in hell he had a bluff.

At the time, I hoped he had a pair of eights that he maybe got a little carried away with preflop, but it didn't make sense for this guy even heads up. I cost myself $630 because I HOPED he had a strange hand that didn't make any sense and wouldn't let go of my pretty set.

Lol well I guess its better to beat myself up rather than lie to myself and say I play good all the time. What range do you put him on based on the action?

AK/AQ/AA/AT/A8/88 might be possible since it's HU. His min-3-bet preflop sucks.. No way to get away from your set though.
