First orbit at a new table, no reads. I liked the flop but the cr scares me (88?66?) Call, raise or fold? I think push or fold, calling keeps the MP draw hand (Straight?Flush?) in. Your thoughts?
Party Poker Pot-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
MP ($29.83)
CO ($25.85)
Button ($25.07)
SB ($17.54)
Hero ($10)
UTG ($31.74)
Preflop: Hero is BB with Q , 6 . SB posts a blind of $0.10.
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, 2 folds, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks.
Flop: ($0.75) Q , 6 , 8 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.72, MP calls $0.72, SB raises to $2.5, Hero ???

Why the weird $.72 bet?
You are quite short stacked here (WHY??), push or fold at this point, and I don't recommend folding... Sure, you'll run into 66 and 88 a lot here, but you'll also run into the straight and flush draws, and frankly, you don't have the stack to be able to try and determine whether or not you're best or not.
If you had a full stack, I'd recommend a 3-bet to about $8 here... at which you could potentially fold to a push. However at $25NL, you'll find people stacking off with single pair and less hands all the time...
Results don't matter... (though I am curious...)

bet-size = pot-limit (not no-limit), so this is the max raise allowed. Semi-shortstack play, i'm not really rolled for SH NL25 at the moment but these tables seem to let a 10dollar stack double up fairly easily and frequently, plus I enjoy six-handed.
Results after I get a few more comments...

You have a pretty vulnerable hand on a drawy board. I push it.

There is .75 in the pot and you bet .72 that is why he is asking about the weird bet size.
I probably push because as a shortstack he probably doesn't give you much credit and this could be AQ, 86 , or flushdraw as well as a set.

How dare you post a PL hand in a NL forum!
I'm guessing you won't be able to push here in this situation, but do your best...
Have you been through everything here, especially concerning bankroll management?? http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-36037.htm

Shove. Ive argued this before and especially at this level, flopping top two and having it lose to a flopped set in 6 max is so rare, rarer than AA vs KK preflop. So ya, shove or raise the max you can since its pot limit, then get the remainder in on the turn regardless.

cheers for all the comments. Ended up being three way. I lost, but sounds like I shouldn't feel too bad about it. Turn 9c and SB raised all-in, MP called. River 7s. SB (88) lost to MP (ATen Hearts).
not sure, maybe the slider stopped? i thought i bet maximum.

couldn't find the SH Pot limit forum...
yep, playing around a little at the moment. Deposited 50 a while back, pulled a bunch a while ago, kept 400 for profit, and now playing with the remaining dollars (200 in empire and party at the moment). Buying in with ten dollars is the same regardless of the limit, right? but shortstacks annoy me too, except the record chasing of how many you can stack in one hand!

There isn't really one. You could go to Poker Etcetera, but you're probably much better off here...

No. You're looking at it from a "money outside of poker" perspective. How much is that $10 "worth" on a $.5/$1 table? Now, how about on a $.02/.04 table?
If I remember right, Party Poker doesn't have limits lower than $.1/$.25 once you're not a "beginner" anymore right? (I can't play there anymore living in the US) If that's the case, and you don't want to transfer to another site (or put back the $400 into your bankroll...) then I guess you are stuck at these limits with a short stack for a while. If that suits you then great! Advice for shortstack play is more simplistic since many decisions are push/fold, and not "raise to $xxx". Good luck!
