i am trying to work on my betting right now, particularly on strange boards like ones where a two pair or set is likely to have hit, so i will be posting a lot of hands like that, even if the answer may be obv. i am on a big big downswing and think the only way to get back is to start with the basics.

hand 1: villain is a fish, 60/20.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB ($102.85)
UTG ($66.70)
MP ($45.95)
Button ($118.20)
Hero ($150.20)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, J.
UTG calls $1, MP calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, UTG calls $5, MP folds.

Flop: ($14) 2, 7, 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $10, UTG calls $10.

Turn: ($34) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $26, UTG calls $26.

River: ($86) K (2 players)
Hero bets $108.2 (All-In), UTG folds.

Final Pot: $-22.20

hand 2: villain is a pretty big fish. is this a cooler or am i just a donkey.

UTG ($69)
MP ($100)
Hero ($125.40)

UTG calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, 2 folds, BB calls $4, UTG folds.

Flop: ($11.50) Q, 3, J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $9, BB raises to $43, Hero raises to $120.4, BB calls $44.30 (All-In).

Turn: ($186.10) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Yeah I play both the same. Sucks when fish actually have hands though.

First one is fine, but the second I would probably consider a flop b/f without a solid read on villain.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

2nd hand is kindof iffy, it'd be good to know if he raises with tp type hands. In all honestly though, I can't see anything else other than shoving.

Bet smaller on river in first one. You want him to call with his 56 or 23, and a huge station folds those to overbet shoves often.

I like hand two. Fish will size raises stupid like that with crap.

hand 1 is probably more like 50 bucks if you haven't showed a bluff or a raised draw or something yet.
