1. I'm suddenly not-so-thrilled w/ bottom set. There's 72 bb in the pot with more than 100bb's behind on the river. BB is 35/15/3 over 125 hands with 40% calls steals and no 3bets. He's been active, but I haven't seen him in a big pot, yet. With the flop/turn action, 44 and Tx are a big part of his range, but he could have an overpair. On the river, I'm worried about JJ, JT, 44 and possibly T4s, and I'm not sure he'll stack off with something like AT, KT, QT or T9 this deep. I would take advice on all streets, but my river thinking went like this:

Bet. Any half-pot bets puts me in a horrible spot if he shoves - I'm pretty much committed with any reasonably-sized bet.
Check/Call. Viable but may not maximize equity.
Shove. I worry only better hands will call this deep. We need Tx to call our shove or other lines would be better.

$0.25/$0.5 Cap No Limit Holdem

Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
Hero (BTN) ($70.10)
SB ($95.65)
BB ($37.55)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 3 players) Hero is BTN
Hero raises to $1.75, SB calls $1.50, BB folds

Flop: ($4, 2 players)
SB bets $4, Hero calls $4

Turn: ($12, 2 players)
SB bets $12, Hero calls $12

River: ($36, 2 players)
SB bets $16, $16 to Hero ($52.35)?

2. Villain is 40/20/2.5 over 200 hands, and my notes read:
* Got 40bb in on turn w/ 2nd pair
* Goes crazy flop/turn, gets weak-tight river

I'll take advice on any street, but I believe it's correct to bet this river for value. If you're betting the river, how would you size it? My river value bets (and bluffs) tend to be around 2/3's pot. And what do we do with a shove-over after we bet, which isn't likely imo but could happen.

UTG 1 ($164.75)
CO ($71.55)
BTN ($100.00)
Hero (SB) ($64.35)
BB ($92.05)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 6 players) Hero is SB
4 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3, 2 players)
Hero bets $2, BB raises to $4, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($11, 2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $8, Hero calls $8

River: ($27, 2 players)
Hero ($50.85)?

1)I'm pretty thrilled to have 333 here. I'm gonna raise the turn and stack a ten.

2) Well i guess if your reads are right just b/f like 17 or something.

If we bet 17 or 18 on hand 2 river and get shoved over, then what?

Hand 1--I like flop and turn, very good against his whole range imo but you have to ship it on the river. meeloche: yeah if we raise turn we're stacking a ten but we're probably stacking a ten on the river anyway. He's folding some medium pocket pairs on the turn if we raise that might call a bet on the river.

Hand 2--b/f, i would say c/c against most but if your read is correct then b/f

I can't. I don't think the river Q helped. If I'm beat on the turn, I'm still beat w/ 2 pair virtually all the time here, imo.

And I'm pretty certain of the read - a river bet would REALLY worry me. I thought I was ahead after the check, but was ready to bale if my $15 bet got the shoved over - this player is way out ahead of her medium strength hands, and totally shuts down the river.

I don't really understand why there is any worry at all in hand 1. Based on his bet sizing, I think he's pretty rarely ever ahead of you.
