I've been playing 6-max $25 NL for the past few weeks and almost have the roll to move up. I have a few questions about how to handle it when I do. First off, what is a good win-rate for $50 NL 6-max? I'm currently making 12 BB/100 at $25, but I know that's fairly high and my EV is 8 buy-ins lower than my actual so I've had a fair amount of luck on my side. I'm thinking 4-6 BB/100 would be standard for a solid player? I really don't know anything about good or bad winrates, I just know my housemate (who knows more about these things than I do) said that 12 was high for $25 and that, intuitively, it'll get lower as limits get higher. My second question is about bet sizing. At $25, all my preflop raises would be $1 + a BB for each limper, and 3 bets would be 3x IP and 4x OOP. Should my standard raise at $50 be 1.50, 1.75, or 2.00? Are my other bet sizes good, I'm pretty sure the rest will be standard up through the much higher limits? Thanks for the help.

Do everything that worked at 25nl. Adjust as you see fit after playing the higher limit for a while. DO NOT adjust anything just because you're at a higher limit and think you should because of that.

This. Nothing is worse falling into the trap thinking you have to outplay people more, and you'll end up playing way to aggressive, maybe abit looser in 3bet/4bet spots. Do high variance plays and most of just not play correctly.

I've always felt for each limit i moved up that people played alot more back at me. While this might be somewhat true, its not nearly enough for you to making stupid plays and shit. Dont let it tilt you.

Thanks for the advice, I think I had a bit of the wrong idea about moving up. I'll stick with my 4x BB raise for now, and if that doesn't work out I'll lower it some.

How about my first question, about winrates? Any thoughts on that?

Don't worry about winrates so much. As long as you're making the right decisions your winrate will follow. I have no clue what an average player's winrate is. I assume anything over 5ptBB/100 is excellent and anything less than 2ptBB/100 that's still positive could use improvement.

Also, it's hard to determine your true winrate without a massive sample. I broke even for 25k hands in January but I'm a winning player.

Find the fish.

There are plenty of crazy bad players at nl $50, or even nl $100. I find it drops of markedly from 100 to 200, but that may just be me reaching my level.

The poor players at nl $50 will be far worse than the decent players at $25.

Play your normal, winning game; just be selective about the tables you choose and the opponents you confront.

50nl is pretty much the same as 25nl. Play your regular game and u'll be fine.

Just don't do this sort of stuff..and you'll be fine. lolz.
