Literally first hand at the table. Best line here?
Opp is totally unknown at this point, but i think may have been a FTR'er or 2p2'er considering the chat we had later.
This may be utterly standard btw...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG ($122.95)
MP ($35.93)
Button ($21.45)
SB ($108.25)
Hero ($111.65)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3, 8.
1 fold, MP calls $1, Button calls $1, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($4.50) 2, 6, 5 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, MP folds, Button folds, SB raises to $8, Hero ???

I like to think about what hands would i c/r with in this situation if i was the sb.
set
34
2 pair
or an overpair

its easy to see the sb completing with all these hands, so you have to figure out why is he c/r. all of these hands would want to win the hand on the flop because of how drawy the board is. so your gutshot may be to a split and your only hope imo is the flush. if my math is correct there is now $15.50 in the pot and you need to call another $5 which is 3-1. with your hand i fold.

But i suck

Call and proceed cautiously on a heart turn... Which means folding isn't terribly (even though i'd prob never fold in a million years).
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

lol who c/raises in a limped pot?

That being said, call and play it passively. You're probably not calling a turn bet.

If you can get a fold sometimes, you should push. If he ain't folding call and mostly fold on the turn if opponent bets huge into a blank.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I think this c/r tells us that this guy has a hand, and it is so good that he figures he wants action OOP by hoping one of you guys takes a stab. he raised $5 more into a $15 pot. My guess is that if you hit your flush your bets are going to get paid, well at least on the turn, so youve got the implied odds to just make the call here. If your straight comes in, you also play it like the nuts.

but isnt this the best excuse to push as if he calls with a draw (can onlybe like the Ax combo draw) then hes a fish anyway and i dont mind stacking off 1 buy in to find it out...

on another note, this hand is great for my image, there are 3 regs i play(ed) with at this table

Fuck metagame - pushing $100 into a $15 pot seems insane to me lol. It's such a big overbet too, it looks like a semibluff - why would we push a set here when we have position and two streets to extract.
