I hadn't been sitting long here, no idea how villain got his stack. His stats are 34/21/3 over 55 hands or so. Haven't reassy seen him do anything yet though. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary either. Advice on all streets please. UTG was 43/9/4 over 135.

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($415.80)
CO ($522.23)
Hero ($304.95)
SB ($1316.37)
BB ($217.70)

Pre-flop: ($3, 5 players) Hero is BTN
UTG raises to $5, 1 fold, Hero calls $5, SB calls $4, 1 fold

Flop: ($17, 3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets $8, Hero calls $8, SB calls $8

Turn: ($41, 3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets $20, Hero calls $20, SB raises to $60, UTG folds, Hero calls $40

River: ($181, 2 players)
SB bets $80, $80 to Hero ($231.95)?

I think you played it fine and have to fold the river despite pot odds. What do you beat that raises the turn that small? Looks to me like he wants a river raise.

I do too but we're not really repping much, I don't know what he's repping either though, maybe 98? He's probably looking to be raised, that turn bet wasn't meant to fold out much.

bump this one time

Best I can come up with is call the river because his line makes no sense? How often could he have a poorly played FH?

I don't see why more people don't like villain for a 9 here. He's loose enough I think 79s-J9s are all in his range as well as 89, A9. He could also play T9 retarded. I doubt he's retarded with that stack.
I think this is a clear fold. You missed your draws, no need to be a hero here. If you really don't believe the SB raise the turn all in, but God is that transparent. In the name of massive outs, I declare you LUCKBOX!!
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

god this just looks like the nuts on one level or another. either a boat played like a total pussy or a straight. well i dont think he played it well whatever he had because of how drawy the board is. he couldve flopped the str8 too.

the reason nothing he has with the exception of TT or 99 makes sense to me. if he has a 9 its a really risky c/r. and if he has a str8 that is also a super risky c/r since the board is paired. In fact, i am completely sold that this is a boat.

When you look at his raise size on the turn I think its the biggest factor in the hand. Looks like the raise size of a boat. I think range wise this could easily be some sort of 98/97 type hand, even though yes that's a thin range.

The guy isn't bluffing ever here, so definetely don't call, and definetely don't raise the river.

I fold river as well...turn call is ok even if it does look like a boat by his raise size like ISF said, but we cant fold a str8 flush gutshot amirite

yeah, seems like a clear fold. his line looks like a 9 or boat and i cant see him bluffing with the raising sizes.

i must be leaking money up higher because i am scratching my head why we dont raise the flop here to about $20. its likely the only spot we are ahead. and, wont it throw villain when we hit our gutter? i have UTG for missed overs and cbetting.

i just dont see this as a hand worth going too far with, and i want to know early in these spots if i can take a pot.

like i said, i'm not good in this spot, at this level, obv. of course he can have overpairs, too. but, wouldnt he bet a little stronger on flop? is this his standard flop bet? its not even 1/2 the pot. besides, a flop raise will get some action out of those overpairs thinking you are raising a draw or bumping him off a cbet. overpairs will think, "Yatzee, bitch, you think i'm cbetting...here eat this!" i dont think they can help themselves but to turn their cards super face up if you raise the flop.

seems if he HAS something here, he bets closer to $15. this is a drawy board and you called in position. if you call light, this hand smacked your range a lot harder than anyone but the biggest dumbasses playing UTG...which he may be based on stats. but, he should still run a bit tighter when raising UTG.

just a gut thing, but like i said, this isnt my level or best spot. just a question.

am i the only one who dont like the pre flop call? there is a utg raise and folded to me on the button with 10 7 suited, im folding, even though we are 5 handed and the 150bb deep.

factoring in the op has not been at the table very long, this is a fold all day, until ive got some kinda read to go on

as played, the sb turn raise of 60 - you are clearly a dry piece of burnt toast, no butter, no marmalade, to a boat or a nine imo

(ps im not that nitty either 20/15)

allright cool I guess I'm being results orientated and overthinking. Got shown 85 of spades and wondered if I should have figured that out somewhere.

It could be any number of hands that don't beat a K high straight (but beat your hand), and he's afraid you have Q-J.

You are beat almost always and he's rarely folding, so you should.
