I use a typical 3x Big Blind in Sit-n-Go scenarios then after the flop I bet approx. 2/3 or 3/4 the pot--strong and consistent. I keep finding that in Cash games that I get re-raised alot, or out-bet. Today I started bumping up my pre-flop opening bets to 4x and my post-flop bets to 100% of the pot. This seemed to get control of things better.

I'm super curious if any of you out there vary your betting amounts in Cash Games vs. Sit-n-Go's.

Yeah, since blinds rise and stacks are shallower in sng's, you don't need to bet as much. Having shallow stacks cuts down on implied odds, so people can't call as loose.

You bet less in tournament poker to conserve chips and because most players can't afford to splash around as much (without commitment) as they are also trying to conserve chips.

In cash games, chips are a non-factor and usually the money is deeper. So building big pots, planning hands and being sticky for small bets (relative to stacks) against people who make a lot of small bets is ideal.

Also, hold'em with an ante rewards early street aggression. NLHE with no ante rewards good planning and more selective aggression as you're not punished as harshy for giving up on the flop after a 3x or 4x raise pre-flop.
