There's a thread about SC's in holdem strategies I know but I want to get more specific.

After the chat last night I was talking to Jager and telling him that I personally thought his habit of calling SC's OOP to raises/playing them OOP. He has 1400 hands with them with a profit, which I think probably isn't enough to accurately show whether he's making a profit in the long run.
He showed me some hands where he stacked people with them oop, and I commented.

I used to play SC's OOP to a raise but I began to realize my lines were transparent when I hit my monsters and i wasn't stacking them. So I quickly stopped, declaring them a leak.

I'm ready to rethink it. I'm going to conject that it is correct to call with SC's OOP if...
1. Raiser is full stacked
2. He stacks off with top pair

What's everyones thoughts?

Don't really have the math to back this up but I'd prefer to flat call with PP where hitting my hand will be tough to read

If preflop raiser is decent and there are no overcalls I'll usually just 3-bet or fold OOP. SC's just aren't that great at winning small pots HU, esp OOP.

being in position changes everything
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

One meta game aspect of suited connectors is that if you flop a combo draw and bet/3 bet AI, it often tilts your opponents and helps your image when you hit it. Later, when you run the same line with a set, you'll get instacalls from a much wider range of hands.

Flopping baby trips with SC's can do this as well.

Even if they were slightly -EV for me, I would still play them for a 4xBB or so raise OOP assuming 100+ BB stacks.
