Alright, no handhistory this time but I just wanted to check with you guys on something. After checkin my PokerTracker stats after ~30k hands everything seems to be in order and I've a little more than tripled my starting BR so it's all good but I noticed one of my leaks is, maybe nothing to be worried about but, when I'm simply calling a raise. Often it's just a c-bet after all but still the standard line is check/fold if I don't hit or doubt I'll have any chances at winning the pot.
Anyway, what I'm wondering is - how do you guys handle it? Call down with pretty much anything you hit? With just an overcard(s)?
Maybe it's a stupid/easy question but I'm annoyed over the fact that everything is going perfect but against a preflop raiser I have a habit of just folding if I don't hit something good, kinda feels like throwing lots of money away - but as I said - just looking for thoughts/opinions really...

Against a player who c-bets a lot you can try calling in position to bluff the turn if you think they are weak, or simply raise their flop bet. The problem with calling to bluff the turn is somtimes you will get c/r off your hand. If you raise the flop and they shove over you can safely dump, not sure which is better, I'm sure there are times when both are better and ven more where neither are good.

Usually when you call in position with a hand, you have a specualtive hand (suited connector, small pair) so I usually am not that excited about having middle pair. If I don't make a pair+ a draw or a set, I'll dump it without some sort of read. If I know the villian will bet the flop and usually checks the turn if met with resistance, I will call the flop bet in hopes of picking up the pot with a 2/3 pot bet on the turn.

Lots of players also put very little thought into when they c-bet and do it far too much regardless of circumstances.
If the flop is 2 suited I will sometimes call and bet out if the flush completes on the turn.
If the flop is mucky, 4 2 6 or something, it is less likley that villan has hit and it may be a good time to make a move. I like these boards when a big face hits on the turn that I will bet, raise, whatever to mix it up.
Generally I think I just roll with the c-bet and see what happens on the turn. This is because as I said I think many people just auto c-bet because they know it is a standard play but lose their way if they dont improve in middeling pots. Also this is the 'standard' play for sets and other monsters and most villans know this.
Also like lock's said I like making moves with the comefort of some sort of a hand. As we normally have to give villan credit for at least A high.
This is all mainly at 25NL at the moment. I'm sure opps get trickier as you move up.
Edit: Reading that it may sound like I do this a lot, but that's not true. I just fold a lot as well as regularly getting into pi$$ing contests is -EV. And even the most idiotic player will notice if you muck about too much and wait to slam you with a monster. It's a fine balance.
