I folded pretty quickly but I realised afterwards that I probably have enough equity to make the call unless his range is very narrow. Villain is quite tight preflop and seems reasonably aggressive. No history between us this session. Calling here and sucking out will also do wonders for my image.
I am getting about 2.5:1 from the pot so I need about 28.5% equity, I assigned villain a range of all overpairs, sets and 97 (other two pairs are too unlikely in my opinion).
Board: 2c 9c 7d 5s
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 28.939% 28.94% 00.00% 573 0.00 { Ac8c }
Hand 1: 71.061% 71.06% 00.00% 1407 0.00 { 99+, 77, 55, 97s, 97o }
So its an almost breakeven call with that range, what range would you put villain on?
Comments on my play in the rest of the hand is welcome. Check behind on the turn against a very tight player who called a flop raise?

I dont think thats a bad range and you could maybe put him on a bluff a small percentage of the time making it a call, it will be very high variance though. Also, I dont blame you for folding simply because putting somebody on a range and then estimating an ev calc mentally against that range, etc. isnt something that everybody is able to do, I know I cant.
Given that, I dont really like how you played the hand. Flop is good but I probably make it a PSR and on the turn I check behind simply because of a hand like this, I do not want to get pushed off my draw when I have a decent amount of outs and a good chance at getting paid if I hit.

This is such a ridiculously common set line I think the fold is good.

I fold b/c I think you can take JJ/TT and maybe QQ out of his range. I probably check behind turn... if he's tight and didn't fold to your flop raise, he's got something he'll have a lot of trouble laying down.
