Villain runs 29/13/1 over 100ish hands, no read other than a general passiveness.

I've been isolating the UTG limper a bit and have tangled with him postflop, and have held decent hands at showdown. No real history with the villain himself though.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($485.80)
Button ($390.80)
SB ($493.80)
BB ($390.91)
UTG ($293.66)
MP ($422.50)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 2, A.
UTG calls $4, 1 fold, Hero raises to $18, 2 folds, BB calls $14, UTG folds.

Flop: ($42) 3, 4, 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $31, BB calls $31.

Turn: ($104) A (2 players)
BB checks, HalvSame...

Edit: also, thoughts on cbetting vs checking behind the flop?

Vi-Zer0Skill is on a distinguished road
If we aren't really worried about being check/raised lightly we might as well put money into the pot on the flop, since we have several outs if we get called, and there are a lot of possible scare cards to come on the turn/river that we can bet on.

As played

He isn't putting more money in when you are ahead
You don't need to bluff to win the hand at showdown anymore

Check behind on the turn, intending to fold to a river bet seems good to me.

I usually don't cbet this flop, esp vs. a passive opp. As played, c behind turn. I might look up a river bet of less than 2/3 pot if heart doesn't fall, but it's tough without a read.

if he were aggro I'd hate betting this flop

based on your read I like betting and building a pot for our wheel-draw and BD flush

as played I think bet-fold is good here on the turn (which I'm guessing is how the action went).
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Bet/fold is good because we get value/protection against pairs w/hearts? On the other hand he might be less inclined to look us up lightly on the turn since he might face a river bet as well, when he might look us up on the river with a pair (no heart). Using this argument I find this a decent spot to fire again with NPND, shouldn't this make me less eager to bet turn with a hand that beats his river bluff catchers?

If I do check behind planning to bet blank river, I gotta fold if he leads out though, right?

don t think you have to fold

unless he doesn't ever do it, it'd be a great spot for him to block with a hand like TT

I checked behind and called his ~2/3 pot river lead, obv he showed me the flush.

I don't really see him blocking the river with TT type hands, because I really don't see myself calling the river with 99/8x ever on this board. (?)

if he s planning on folding to your bet but thinks you will bluff it with a frequency that will be tough to read then I can see him doing this to "avoid a tough decision"

prob a little to complicated though
