Hi guys - I'm trying to get a bit more aggressive with my draws, with the aim of being harder to read and getting more action from my made hands. Here was one of my attempts.

The table generally consisted of poor players, who generally gave too uch action postflop. Therefore I wasn't too concerned playing this little suited connector from upfront. Villain was 58/22/2.3. Any comments?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP ($134)
CO ($188.55)
Button ($1616.74)
SB ($159.75)
BB ($200)
Hero ($264.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6, 5. SB posts a blind of $1.
Hero calls $2, MP calls $2, CO calls $2, 1 fold, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($10) 5, 8, 4 (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $9, MP raises to $25, CO folds, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls $253.20 (All-In), MP calls $107 (All-In).

I raise PF here, and this push on the flop is standard.

You are essentially even money if his range is only a set or two pair, assuming he has a wider range here and taking into consideration the money in the middle this is profitable. Even if it doesnt get called it can still help generate action on your made hands as well.

With full stacks I might be more inclined to call. With money this short it's an easy push.

BTW: This isn't a bluff. You figure to be at worst a 3:1 or so dog if called and no way you put him on a set anyway.

SB ($96)
Hero ($100)
UTG ($140.65)
MP ($105.93)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, 9. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
4 folds, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $3, SB raises to $6.5, Hero calls $3.

Flop: ($14) 6, 2, T (2 players)
SB bets $1, Hero raises to $12, SB raises to $23, Hero calls $81 (All-In), SB calls $66 (All-In).

Turn: ($196) Q (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($196) K (2 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: $196

Results in white below:
SB has Kd Jh (one pair, kings).
Hero has 7c 9c (high card, king).
Outcome: SB wins $192. Hero wins $4.

Sorry for the hijack, this was just too awesome to keep to myself and not awesome enough to create its own thread.

To the OP: Whatever equity you lose when you are behind in this situation, is completely made up for in folding equity. If you reraise and are called, you pretty much have to push the turn regardless. But, Fnord is also right, If my villain and i have big stacks I prefer a call.

jo,

nice hand. preflop is okay on the right table, but terrible on aggressive ones - but you seemed to have picked your spot well.
