i wouldn't expect MP to fold J-x to a 2/3PSB turn bet. if we check we risk the turn checking through (so i'd save that for players you know are aggressive and float light), and i don't like betting small like 1/4PSB as it's very transparent, despite Phil Gordon's professional opinion to the contrary. though versus certain fish such a line is your best choice.

Why? Do we have any evidence this guy isn't a total station? He called $5 flop, $12 turn... I bet $20 and hope he pushes.

In the unlimited hold'them when we have a big hand against an unknown player we should just play it absurdly fast and let them figure out if you're really strong or just batshit insane. Even if they fold, they'll still come out of the deal feeling like they cheated on their wife with a $20 hooker.

You are right, we have no reads but I've seen so many players shove missed draws and top pairs to a weak river bet. It works for me at least.

Interesting, not what I've been seeing in the $200 6 max game.

I see it a fair amount at 50 NL but I don't think trying to induce a bluff from an unknown is in any way going to be more profitable than just value-betting against someone who seems to like to call anyway. It's true that sometimes he'll have a missed draw here and fold, but it's also true that sometimes he'll have a missed draw and fold to your bluff-inducing tiny bet; and if he flat-calls with a pair or two pair, you'll be kicking yourself for not making a regular bet.

I agree, and I think you mainly get paid when you have reads but how you gonna know till you try at least once against an unknown?

You can get reads on somebody else's dime just by sitting at the table and watching the showdowns. Just take the high percentage shot here.
