ok, i'm experimenting with 6-max. I still suck, but the players at 5nl, 10nl, and 25nl suck worse so I'm now at 50nl for a while.
Here is a hand where I can't tell if I played well or badly.
Villain is relative unknown. 24-16 over about 50hands and cbet every time he raised.
Pre-flop I could have 3-bet, and normally would - but I'd 3-bet 3 times in the last 3 orbits already and figured I could play him postflop in position just fine.
Flop is great, and I decide to rep a queen if I get the chance. Calling fits with that and everyone knows that people call the SB with KQ (trying to get inside his head). Once I call the flop, he's gonna want to get value if he has a queen. I bet when checked to, smallish for "value". Then mash the river. Is this line transparent? or good? I can't really tell

3 folds, SB bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.50
Flop: ($4) Q , Q , 8 (2 players)
SB bets $2, Hero calls $2
Turn: ($8) 7 (2 players)

River: ($18) 4 (2 players)

don't expect him to fold 99+ ever
just check back river, you probably have like 10% chance of winning it still and almost anything that beats you is calling
8x probably calls most of the time, he never has 4x or 7x so you're really only folding 66,55,33,22 and getting called by 99,TT,JJ,8x,56 and getting shoved on by slowplayed or luckboxed boats

Check turn behind to get this to showdown. There is sooooo much mistrust in these spots thta I usualy play them very straight up unless I think I can get someone off of air or pick someone off.

What exactly does your turn bet accomplish? Just check behind on the turn and fold the river unimproved.

cool, thanks for the comments. And, yep, you're all right. Villain timed down a while then eventually called with A8

the problem is in this spot his optimal play with marginal hand is to check call and get value from your air/weaker small pairs

In this case i would expect that he had folded and that you had won the hand hand was played pretty well
