I knew what the outcome of this hand was before the river. Drawing for the flush with the king you have to completely ignore implied odds becuase you're never going to get any. No one is going to draw with the queen and push on the river and you're only getting played back at with the Ace or a full house. I don't mind the flop and turn bets but once he springs to life on the river to your big bet, what hand could he have? When you called you were basically hoping he caught a set somewhere or some other good hand that a fish can't fold. What did you think he was playing back at you with?

-'rilla

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

I agree with rilla, when its a 4-flush board, you should not be betting hard w/o the A, on a 3 to a flush board, a K-high flush is usually good.

But I've seen it happen so many times where someone with a low club wins it all, or someone without a club just bluffs it... is it really not worth going after?

Not for an All-in, If you can show it down cheaply then yeah, go for it. If someone shows weakness, raise em. But this guy made an atomic re-raise on your already strong be, I would have given him credit and lived to see another hand.

P.S. When you post your hand histories, you should leave out the results, because that way our advice can't be biased.
