Please remember to keep all tournament discussions in the Tournament Tactics forum.

Thanks, Ripp! I'll review this later when I have more time (I'm at work now). The blind-stealing tactic made a huge difference in my own tournament play, so I'm already a believer.

you know, looking at these examples, you really know when to press and when to back-off. when someone pushed back, and you didn't have the goods, you let it go.

VERY impressive heads-up play, you basically bullied your way to first (i mean that as a compliment).

i think one of my biggest problems is that i'm waiting too long to go into "rippy-mode" - by the time i do, my stack isn't as scary as it needs to be and the blinds are presenting a real danger.

excellent play. maybe before the FTR tourney, you should have a bunch of cocktails to help you relax.

I also need to be more aggressive in heads-up play. I sit around for good cards too much. I've placed 2nd in so many tourneys now.

Agreed. Very impressive tactics. There was only one hand in your entire tournament that left me scratching my head. #504759699. Not exactly sure what your thought process was there. Chasing the 4 card flush I guess? I dunno. Other than that hand though, I can definitely see where the blind stealing enabled you to pick up some ancillary chips to keep you in the game and allow you to stick around long enough to get the hands to take down the rest of the feild.

I also have a problem with waiting too long I think before going into the aggressive mode that you displayed. You do seem to have a knack though for whento push forward with the bullying. Seems whenever I do try to bully someone I inevitably pick the hand that someone has been dealt AA or KK.
