Effective stacks $24.20. Hero limps UTG with AQo, gets raised to $1.4 by the button. Button is 19/12/2.8. Hero 3-bets to $3.25, button calls.

Flop comes JTT rainbow. Hero bets $4 into a $7.15, button raises all in for $21 so it is $17 to call in a $32 pot. Hero?

If you raise preflop (like you should be doing), this hand plays out completely differently.

If I wanted to get it in on this flop, I'd much rather check/bomb then bet/call a shove.

Calling that particular player in this spot is probably bad. You'll find out very often that several of your outs are tainted or not outs at all, and the other player often has a re-draw against your hand. It's noteworthy that your hand is repped as a big pair so he probably doesn't think he has a lot of fold equity. So he has a ten or an overpair quite often.

I also don't know why you're limp/3-betting. At these stakes it's not worth the trouble.

edit - another question I have is why you are 3-betting so small. If you're making a change-up play by limping and then re-raising with weak ish like AQ, you should at least make a real attempt to blow him off whatever he's got. That raise won't do it.
