ANOTHER 2nd place.....Im SO tired of it. I really suck when it get down to heads up and yes i have ordered Hoh2 but it will take 3 weeks before it will arrive here in Denmark. 3 weeks = alot of 2nd places and nearly no 1st places. This is my last heads up :

Oh my god that was depressing. Do some bloody raising! Stop completing and then folding to what are obviously probe bets. The odds of you having better cards than him on each hand are almost 50% - so don't let him win 4 out of 5 hands when your stack is tiny! When you hit top pair with your queen, bet hard. Stop completing the blinds and start raising - a few big blinds will make your stack look a lot healthier.

PUT IN SOME PROPER BETS. You double up when you have 3000 chips - the game is level. You are leaking chips and not even fighting for them. He can't believe his luck here. When your stack is so low compared to the blinds, don't fanny about with min bets and partial raises - fold or go all-in, and use calls/smaller bets to slowplay or confuse if you have to.

Sorry to be harsh but you really need to play aggressively, even when short-stacked. You gave this guy no problems at all.

Don't fold. The pot is giving you 3:1 to complete your small blind and any random hand plays in heads up. If he raises you might fold, but you should hardly ever not complete your small (in fact you should usually raise), unless you're just trying to surprise him or something. Sometimes you have to tune out the fact that your cards are terrible.

Were you intending to check-raise here? I can understand that on the flop - you flopped top pair and he had raised, so arguably he will probably bet the flop. You need to bet something on the turn, even just a min-bet to try to get some money in the pot. Don't slowplay top pair too much, although it is a strong heads up hand. Here he had an open-ended straight draw; you could have definitely extracted money from him if you'd bet somewhere before the river.

This is terrible. T8 is an average heads up hand and certainly calls for you to complete, maybe even raise. I'd raise this hand 40% of the time and call the rest. I'd never even think of folding it from the small blind.

Seriously consider a re-raise with K9, maybe a hefty one. Your hand is good. A call is OK though. On this hand or others, you sometimes need to bet the flop even without catching a piece of it. This is a good example of that. He bet half the pot and you folded... you should consider that a lesson. Eliminate your positional disadvantage by sometimes entering the pot first.

This is the last one of these I'll post, but: stop folding your small blind away. Fight for it. Complete sometimes, raise sometimes, even go all in sometimes. Ignore that your cards are shitty. Don't bet 800 on a pot of 2400. there's a strong argument for just going all in here, but I'd prefer a bet of probably 1800 or so. You save some chips, but you're probably going to have to put them in the middle if he raises you... the only reason to not just go all in is the psychological factor. You want to make it look like you have an ace and you're trying to get paid off.
