We havnt really played any big pots vs each other this session, hes obv. a nutcase, and views me as one as well..I'm really not sure whats the best line here?

I think that's a terrible card for his range and a great one for ours
not sure what that means though in terms of extraction/chances he bets turn

when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Usually I bet/call in these situations to protect against the 4-flush, but I find that I never get action. And when I was bluffing the flop and check the turn (which I only do sometimes b/c it's a good card to 2nd barrel) good regs always seem to bet. So I like a turn c/r a lot.
