I've had it said to me from a couple different sources that "You should always barrel the turn after c-betting a 3bet pot". "To not do so is extremely exploitable", they add. Well, I never quite got whether that meant "It's a great play to barrel the turn with air in a 3bet pot; people fold all the time", or "Never cbet in a 3bet pot unless you have a hand you want stack off with", and as a consequence, I still cbet 90%, and then timidly check the turn. A. because the cbet shows immediate profit, I'm pretty sure. B. being able to cbet helps mop up my light 3bets gone awry. C. I don't understand what hand someone would call with on the flop, only to fold for one more call on the turn, usually getting about 2:1.

So is it that I should cbet only with a hand after 3betting, or that I should shove in on the turn with reckless abandon? Which ever it is, why?

(I opted to post this here, partly because I'm a 6max player, and partly because I felt this wouldn't get properly answered in the beginner thread. Feel free to move it.)

This is really opponent dependent.

Some players will call tons of 3bets pre and then fold most flops. It's probably ok to just fire one bullet vs these types, as their flop calling range is pretty strong if they are usually folding.

Others will call one and fold to second, and others call two and fold to third. It's hard to make a generalization like this.
