your oop against a lot of callers making a crappy little raise

Either call here or make it large $5+ imo.

Eh, crappy little raise? You kinda want to get called by weaker hands too, not just QQ+..

i wouldn't call two callers "a lot of callers." and why reraise to 2x the total pot, only to get reraised AI by something like KK/AA?

i would think pot control would come in here, and pretty much doubling the raise puts out the vibe "i have a hand."

I always reraise AK to 3-4 x the initial raise amount, and if there are several callers I tend to reraise more. But 4x opps raise should be fine here.

Also, chances that you are up against AA/KK are very small, especially because you are having one A and K yourself.
Ppl at these stakes will these big prf reraise with all sorts of crap (I'm playing NL100 and they call reraises with dominated crap all the time). And you are also pretty happy about taking the pot down prf.

It also puts out the vibe "hey I am giving you odds to suck out with any two cards. Please call with 72 and flop trips on me."

And with AK you typically want to get in as much money preflop as possible, while you have the most guaranteed equity.

3-betting here with AK is v standard (called squeezing). Just make a pot-sized raise, which means raising to $5.25. (anything from 4.50 - 5.50 would work just as well)

If you feel like the only hands that will play back at you are AA/KK, then you need to start 3-betting/squeezing more preflop. And this is not the time to be thinking about pot control. You likely have the best hand here, and a lot of equity against everything but AA/KK. Simply put, you 3-bet here with AK because it is very +EV to do so.

A lot of AK's power lies in its fold equity preflop and on the flop.

Mutliway pots with Tptk type hands (especially in reraised pots sucks and OOP!)
AA/KK probably push here so i think ou can probably fold to a push, thats what reraising does.
Assume UTG has a pp and u make this reraise. If he assumes both the original pfr'er and the caller might call he has monster odds to call and stack you here knowing you are unlikely to let go of your hand.
You make this $5 he has zero odds. THAT says get outta my pot or push.

Yeah, I understand that one. Nice thread, it seems my own intuitions here are different from the general consensus, so I'll take some time to think about it I suppose.

You could do that with 72o too.

Anyway, with a 5$ reraise and 1 caller the pot is ~11$ with 19$ behind at the flop. The flop misses. What line should Hero take from there? Bet 5 and fold to a push? Bet 8-10$ and call off the rest? Open push?

As played, the pot will be 9$, and Hero can cbet 6-7$ and fold to a push.
