Hi, I think AK is one of my weaker areas of the game, feel free to check through and let me know if I played badly. (In this case I hit flush draw but I usually will play like this regardless of whether I do or don't hit).
PokerStars Game #12581844698: Hold'em No Limit ($0.10/$0.25) - 2007/10/12 - 09:16:30 (ET)

*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $27.50 | Rake $1.30
Board [2d Js 5s 9h 8c]
Seat 1: atbuster folded before Flop
Seat 2: deserto folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: mucho05 showed [8s Jd] and won ($26.20) with two pair, Jacks and Eights
Seat 4: whatporsche (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: TheManners (small blind) showed [As Ks] and lost with high card Ace
Seat 6: krohn81 (big blind) folded before Flop
I think I was unlucky for a weak player to hit top pair (which most of them seem to have difficulty folding), and to make things worst he two paired the river so he had no problems calling me there.

I think this is fine against someone who has a fold button, this guy hasn't though.
I'd prolly c/c turn against someone like him, although vs. someone decent there's a million ways to play this.

I think you should give up on the river because he isn't folding a jack. It's unlikely he is drawing to spades. Betting the turn is fine.

Thanks for advice, so I should slow down a bit after my c-bet?
Although in the above example I thought he was on a draw which is why I kept the heat on.
Here's another today, I raise it up to BBX8 as BB with 4limpers, guy calls with j6s and as he's short i push turn.
I might start playing AK differently soon as I seem to lose many pots with it as it's currently played.

c/r the turn in hand 1 AYCEB, if he calls you can still have 33% equity which is nice b/c he won't have to fold a better hand too much to make it profitable.
Plus I just love going all-in lately.

yeah in hand 1 i like the idea of a c/r on turn. and definitley don't bet the river. you might even want to pop it to 1.75 since your oop. i am starting to learn slowly to start giving up on pots more at these stakes. i think, he has mid pair or something shitty how can he show up? somehow they do most the time. its nice when im running hot though.
hand 2 again maybe 2.25 since were oop. otherwise, i wouldve played it the same.
