I have a feeling you have the same hand.
I felt pre though versus a lag like this assuming his stats say something about how much he threebets.
Check out the new blog!!!

I nearly did but his raise size made me think twice. With position I decided to give myself a chance to get away from it.

As played do you like the turn and river bets?

ok I just realised something profound. In this hand I put him specifically on AK with a small chance of something good being either scared of the Q or something like AQ/QQ trying to trap.

I am betting $20 into a $30 pot so I have to be succesful 40% of the time to make a profit. I think he has AK or folds JJ (maybe AA/KK) 40% of the time after playing like this so I bet...

...Except...

If AK is the main hand I put him on then im not betting $20 to win $30. If I check behind then we split and I win $15 anyway so really Im risking $20 to win $15. Obviously thats much worse. I now have to be right 58% of the time.

I just realised this as I was thinking about the hand. Its something to think about in these kinds of situations.
