yet another tough spot here..
opp is 52/16 and is very passive except on the river where he had 14 AF with a frequency of 56% !!
this lead me to believe that I am ahead here 50% or more when he bets the river due to str8/flush draws etc and potentially pure bluffs as he was maniacish on the river.

my question is, against this type of player do you like a check-call more, and if he was a different player would you prefer a bet-fold in this spot to get calls from hands like A9, 9T, TT, JJ etc if they limp those.

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG Awful Fish ($299.00)
UTG+1 Jay NPLV ($334.30)
CO ROCKETS778 ($70.00)
BTN PsychosGhost ($235.05)
SB fetz23 ($157.70)
BB Hero ($211.85)
[ROCKETS778 posted $2]

Pre-flop: ($5, 6 players) Hero is BB
2 folds, ROCKETS778 checks, PsychosGhost calls $2, fetz23 calls $1, Hero raises to $12, ROCKETS778 folds, PsychosGhost calls $10, fetz23 folds

Flop: ($28, 2 players)
Hero bets $18, PsychosGhost calls $18

Turn: ($64, 2 players)
Hero checks, PsychosGhost checks

River: ($64, 2 players)
Hero checks, PsychosGhost bets $64

Final Pot: $128

Against this guy I check call.

I mean, you've found something you can exploit, so exploit it. Why use another line which doesnt take advantage of his bad habits?
Just playing to improve.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

If that is your read, then this is an easy check-call. You could also bet the turn, but it might be possible that this reduces the frequency with which he bluffs the river (since your hand looks a lot stronger after this action) enough to where check, check-call is the best line, since obviously there is huge value in check-calling the river against a really weak / bluffy range.

so u think against this type of player i'm best to play it this way, or do you think bet/folding the turn is all right as well?

what do you make of it when these types of players just pot it on the river - never looks nice but I have to call nevertheless
