Why would you consider checking behind with A-A on this river? Looks like an easy value bet, and then probably a crying call when he raises.

I agree with dsaxton. Also I bet pot on the flop, closer to pot on the turn and more on the river. The way he played the flop and turn looks like a draw or an overpair to me.

I really don't mind checking on the river against certain players with only an overpair sometimes

I think you have to check behind because very few, if any, hands call your bet that you beat. Also, and it's a given that any hand that beats you calls (or reraises).

looks ok if you called, but I woulda value bet a bit more on the river, like 1/2 to 2/3 pot, and expect most worse pairs to call enough of the time...at least they have a few times that I tried bluffing there
