just started the game, no idea about the other players yet. i thought one of them might slow play a monster and i decided to check and call a reasonable bet. how do you play tptk or overpair out of position when other are calling pot size bets with no clear draws on the board?

I think you played this too safe; I would lead with 1/2-full size of the pot on the turn and then check/call the river. You can't be scared that someone flopped a set against you everytime, and by not betting the turn 1. you give free cards and miss on a value bet and 2. you don't give yourself a chance to get away from the hand (a min-raise on the turn and I'd be pretty sure I'm beat).

Yea I'd go ahead and bet again on the turn. The lack of a flush and two callers is frightening, but go ahead and half pot it again. There are still TJish straight draws out there that they could have been chasing plus just noobish calls (it is thanksgiving break for a lot of fishies). If its a set, you'll know on the turn and can fold. If they call a 15 dollar bet on the turn, then fold the river if they do anything wild. its ok.
