Villain is one of the more solid regulars. His play screams pocket pair at me, so his c/r AI on the river looks pretty obvious.. villain didnt show so now I'm doubting myself :/

I pot the turn then either check or shove the river. No way I fold here.

you can't fold more than 3:1 odds there. I'd bet harder on the turn and river.

Spots where its nigh impossible to release AA
1. When villain has been playing very aggressively.
2. When Hero has been playing very aggressively.
3. When villain is defending his big blind. (applies here)
4. When no feasible draws complete (applies here).
5. When pot odds are too convincing ( applies here).
6. In a reraised pot with 100bb or less stacks
7. When Hero has a frustrated image.
8. When villain has a frustrated image.
9. Against fish who can't tell a good hand from a great hand.
10. Against sharks when there are lots of draws out and he's got position on you.

haha, I love AK. Seriously, there's nothing more exciting then stacking QQ all-in preflop with AK. It seems like with KK, people are quite confident in their hand preflop and if you spike an ace vs them, they are cool about it (or at least don't find the need to say anythign). QQ, on the other hand... I have seen people quite upset when it doesn't hold up to the immortal nuts preflop (AK).
I just thought that was interesting.

I actually would have folded if I thought he was solid. But judging by his c/r ai with TT on the river he sucks.

Dude, this is $25NL...
I would only think about folding this if I thought he was super-weak.

euph,
Against a solid somewhat "unimaginitive" regular I fold to his river c/r, because a solid player like will never c/r TT-KK on the river.

He's playing $25. Also, if he's a thinking player he's capable of bluffing.
I don't fold good hands to solid players. I fold luke-warm hands to really weak players (and almost always on cheap streets.)

Youve said this twice, and I really think you're underestimating the game. Its not like comparing $3/$6 LHE with .50/1 LHE where the play is significantly different. I would bet hard that 100NL and 25NL on stars don't play very differently.

It's not, if you're playing 6 max.

Does anything else need to be said? But does this answer ever change? If this were 1000 NL you make this call because there is a higher likelihood the villain is bluffing and more aggresive.

Poker is just so much easier when you don't fold the nuts.

Dude all you ever beat here from a competent villain is a bluff, and the only draw that missed made top pair on the river and is not going to c/r ai. Just because it's 25nl doesn't mean a thing, in fact a river checkraise at low limits is almost always the nuts. Villain was correct here but it's really not a good call against a solid player. I think OP was off in his assumption that villain was solid is the problem.

Then again, I dont think any 25 NL players should be considered 'solid.'

I have to agree with aislephive here. I think people underestimate the power of a river c/r AI from a tight regular at NL25 - I would much rather call this c/r at NL100 than at NL25

I was thinking about exactly that last night.
Youre a 55 year old engineer with 3 kids, and enjoy playing poker simply because you enjoy poker. What stakes are you going to play?
Youre an addicted gambler. What stakes are you going to play?
Youre a 23year old college student, just came back from the bar, and youre pretty .. Where ya gonna play?

ZOMG Jo, us assholes are rubbing off on you. Run far away before you start on the hard stuff like re-raising 89s pre-flop.

Once you start doing the one/two gappers with regularity (suited and offsuit), you know you've become a degenerate. 89s is a premium hand, ffs.
