villian is 20/17 over 150 we havent got any relevant history.
i really get lost in situations like these with an overpair out of position. my first instinct was to flat and then bet any non diamond 7 8 or 9 but this is probably bad. almost as bad as jamming, i dno. help
thanks

If you don't know anything take the conservative route and fold.
It would help if you knew is 3bet% wtsd%

Do you mean villain is 20/17? (you've typed hero lolz) I like a fold here. This is pretty much never air and probably a mix of 2 pairs, some flush draws and sets. Nothing we have great equity against and I'd say the fact this is multiway, and your c-betting range looking quite strong, that it's a set, straight or 2 pair fairly often.

Umm why? You think he has bluffs he'll be giving up on? Unless he's crazy spewy I don't see him having a weak enough range for this to be profitable, especially if he barrels again with fds on the turn, which seems quite concievable.

he could be planning to check back turn with TT/A9, or just check behind a flush draw. he isn't going to barrel the turn every time with a flush draw.
thinking about ranges and stuff, would you bet/call anything on this flop? or just bet/3bet and bet/fold?

I find it pretty hard to stick A9 in here, even TT/JJ seems like a really dodgy raise for most Tags on this flop, since draws can ship and pot them in nasty spots and if they get any action it's usually bad news. He may not be thinking along these lines though.
I'd probably not have a flatting range to this raise, b/c I want his draws to stack off when I have a good fd or strong hand, and I don't want the board getting any scarier vs his made hands.

Id fold here. TT and JJ are like the only things he can do this with that we beat( assuming he will 3b QQ and higher) and a TAG will not raise them in this spot too often. Against the rest of his range( sets, combo draws, straights) we are in awful shape and will have to play oop. Too many cards are scare cards and u are gonna be in a WTF spot too often. FOLD.
