So he's giving you about 3-1 on your call but unfortunately, I don't think you're good often enough here to call. The only bluff I see is a missed A or K of spades but he would have to be pretty fishy to be chasing a one card flush draw out of position on a paired board even at 25nl. A pair of 9s just isn't cutting it here.

I think I check behind on the turn as played. I would occasionally check behind the flop, then bet the turn though. Don't know if this is optimal, but it is nice to only be putting bets in on 2 streets as opposed to 3 when there is 3 to a flush on the board

i check on this flop a lot i think, but playing it this way and felting isnt horible. Call river.

I agree with a few of the posts in here, in that I definitely bet this flop and if called, mostly always check through this turn. Checking through the turn with the intention of calling villain's river lead (on a non-spade river)

ya i'd check the flop or turn too without reads.
as played, i begrudgingly call the river.
