No hand history but this is really close to what happened. .25/.50 NL, full table. I was the big blind with a full stack and this hand:

The other two participants in this hand are a passive semi-station in middle position, and a decent, TAggish player on the button who I know has some positional awareness. Button had me covered; the station was a very short stack with only like $10, which he had whittled down through a lot of calling and then folding.

Preflop action: MP limps, button raises to 2.25, I make the call, MP calls as well.

Flop: :Td:

I check, MP checks, button checks.

Turn:

I check, MP bets 2.00, button calls, I call.

River:

I check, MP checks, button bets 10.00, I call, MP folds.

--

I'd like a critique of the overall play; the optimal river line with the rest as played; and whether or not you like the river call with the rest as played.

Seems pretty marginal. I play it the same.

I thought about it - I couldn't make a decision in the moment so I went with the path of least resistance.

Results in white: Button had 88 and told me "nice call." Went on to find out that MP had flopped the ace high flush and had to fold because of the running twos - ha ha ha ha smirk guffaw.
