Arent you priced in for this call? It's a $120 pot and you only have like $40 behind, giving you 3-1. He could very well have two pair/missed flush draw here. I've been making these folds lately as well and I'm wondering if I should be calling. Seems like they don't have the straight more often than not.

I really dont think 2pair is going to be raising this very often.

Apunisher, you didnt give any reads on your opponent or anything like that and in a hand like this it comes down to those sort of things. Do you think he will oblige and only raise with better hands? Do you think he will call that bet with worse hands? If you check, will he bet a worse hand?

Your river bet screams weakness and against this line a bluff raise would be very profitable Id guess. I think I agree with gabe here and would check and hope to get to showdown without putting anything more in. Id have a tough time calling a bet without a good read.

apunisher,

With 4 to a straigh on the board, do you really think villian will call enough with a worse hand on the river to make the bet +EV? I understand why you want to block/value bet it, but this is not the spot to do it, simply because it will almost never be called by a worse hand - people are simply to afraid of the VERY apparent straight out there. Check river and mostly fold to a bigger bet.

Check/calling is better on the river when the bet is reasonable

check/call might induce a bluff as well. I call anything umm... 3/4ths pot or less? Kinda subjective there.

I think this is a fold because most people don't have the balls to raise river bets on this board unless they have a straight. Even considering the pot odds, your hand is not good nearly often enough to call unless you have a good read.

Yeah I agree with what everyone else says. If you think he has a busted FD, then there's no point betting the river because he's either folding anyway or he'll bluff you off the best hand. If he has two pair he should check behind. I probably check/call just about any bet here. But that's if my read tells me that villain is able to make plays. If he's somewhat tight I fold to anything substantial.
Family Cruise IMO

If he's tight, he probably doesnt have a T in his hand.

The reason i bet this river is so i didnt have to face an overbet push or psb that would leave me guessing as to whether or not he had a str8 or a busted flush draw. I think 98, 66, etc would call river bet as opposed to pushing.

If youre taking this line, a half-pot bet and fold to reraise is right on, so don't fret.

I'm betting the turn and checking the river. I have caught numerous bluffs like this lately and the only hand I could reasonably see him limping and calling a raise with is possibly 9T. I don't (though it's possible) see him calling with a hand like AT or KT and floating you here so I would probably lean towards making the call. Great bet on the turn. Bad bet on the river.
