Villain is 26/22. I'm looking to set or forget on the flop but he gives me a free card (which makes me suspicious) and I pick up the OESD on the turn. Alternative lines?

Warpe,

Flop and turn looks fine. Sometimes I lead the turn though, but that really depends on what kind of player I'm up against. River is hard, I think I lean towards a call since your hand is underrepped and he could very well just be pounding on your weak checks.

Yeah, I thought about leading the turn but I wanted to keep the pot under control in case I faced a raise. River was an easy-peasy call though, I think.

I'd lead the turn, but it looks fine. River is a call.

It seems like a time to call, but I would not be so sure it was that simple. He raises pre flop the standard three times the big blind UTG, so he has to have some type of pair. And I reckon they hit it on the flop since they have checked, now whether it's higher then yours or lower is doubtful, when they bet on the turn, it's the five. So this to me shows he has 8-8 or 7-7. Now it would be a call, you have over 3-1 on your money and you have plenty in your chip stack to collect it back, but a raise should of been done on the flop by you to see where you were. Of course, I am just 19, so don't listen to me if this sounds absolutely crap, because I know my standards of playing is probably nowhere near experienced players.
Mr Inconsistency....that is moi!!!!!

That's your only mistake. I would never make this call pre-flop against a guy this aggressive, unless I planned on fighting for the pot some of the time without a set.

Everything else seems pretty standard. You basically have to put him on exactly 99 to fold the river and I think 99 bets the flop usually.

Isn't this exactly the kind of player I want to catch with his pants down? Not making this call preflop is crazytalk. If he's got any readable betting patterns at all I'm dusting it up with him if I think he's weak.

He mucked KK, btw.

I'm not saying calling preflop is bad, I'm saying auto-folding if you miss your set is bad against this guy.
