So I recently moved to 50nl, played ok was up a couple buy ins. Then dropped 4 BIs yesterday, mostly because people were limping/flatting monsters.
Example, sorry no HH.
I am otb with JJ it folds around to me. I raise it 3.5 bbs, sb folds, bb calls.
Flop is pretty dry, like 8 5 3 rainbow. BB checks I bet 4/5 pot, he calls. Turn is a 9, He check raises, I shove over. Maybe didn't play it well but I don't see how I am folding here against unknown.
He has KK.
This happened to me multiple times with villain either limping then 3 betting preflop or limping calling with AA, KK and AK and completely effign my ranges.
This can't be normal can it? Anything I can do here or just unlucky and playing against retards? Tilted me quite bad.

This kind of stuff is getting more common and you just have to be wary of it, and remember it happens. If someone does it to you, take a note on them. Otherwise it's just a play like any other - not terribly common, but it should affect how you figure people's hand ranges.

That's totally read-dependant, isn't it? But generally check/call, check/raise isn't a line that indicates weakness.

Pretty much only A8, A9, 1010 and draws maybe random 9x, 8x 66,77. I am not sure I had this hand recorded accurately and as I said, I didn't play it great either.
Alot of bad players do jam the hands above on turns even though the 9 did not help them if they previously had a hand like tpgk.
I was more concerned with the overall trend of playing big hands like this and was probably on tilt somewhat as I dropped a few BIs at other tables to the same type of thing.

A leak I've had to plug is calling with bluff catchers because I HOPE they're bluffing, rather than because I have any real reason to think they're bluffing.
You pushed over because you HOPED he was bluffing here.

This is really a decent spot to just call with KK if you are ever going to do it. You are opening a wide range from the button I assume, he already has you isolated.
