UTG is 60/15, has flatted a lot of 3bets OOP. I know this because button is 23/20 over 60 hands, and has 3 bet a bunch. I've not called one of his 3bets yet. He's squuezed every time i've flatted a raise PF. Have folded all 3, but 2nd time he showed down JhQh after it got checked down with UTG. UTG won that hand with KJo. I'm running 22/18, haven't shown anything down yet tho.

Do we like, given that i flatted PF with this in mind? FWIW, i think UTG is capable of calling me with worse. Button obv not.

Edit: Forgot to add, all 3 previous squeezes have been from the button. I have always been the squeezed. He 3bet to $8 from the BB earlier, but the rest have been $5.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

UTG ($46.05)
Hero (MP) ($53.75)
Button ($81.40)
SB ($50.25)
BB ($36.40)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A, J
UTG raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, Button raises to $5, 2 folds, UTG calls $3.50, Hero raises to $53.75 and is all in

i still like 3betting smaller than just shoving, but i definitely don't mind taking a stand since this has happened within a shortish period of time.

Just fold. Despite your reads it's still an UTG raiser, button squeezing an UTG raiser and you're trying to rep a slowplayed KK+/AK which people never give credit for. I guess you could call but you have a reverse implied odds hand so you'd have to be careful. Surprised you think UTG is capable of calling with worse... even terrible players don't usually call preflop shoves for 80bb with A2-AT or KQ.

This play (bluff shoving over a squeezer) is better when you're the pfr'er and it's a more typical squeeze situation (co raise, btn flat, blind squeeze or btn raise, sb flat, bb squeeze).

The boldened statement was my biggest problem with the hand. After the fact, naturally I also think shoving makes it even more transparent that I don't have a big hand, I think a 4 bet like Bode suggested is best if I'm gonna pull this kind of shit. U don't think buttons range is pretty wide tho given his success with it so far and the fishiness of UTG?

I guess with this hand i'm trying to gauge if my thought process is sound (or at least along the right lines) more than whether the play itself was good. Though I think in this case I strayed into FPS-land.
