Villian is passive but solid 23/5/2. I´ve bn pretty aggro against him. The flop action made me check the turn, with him checking behind, do we value bet the river and if so, how much?

These are two standard value betting spots. How much you bet depends on what you know about the opponent. In hand 1 I like betting 3/4, because you misrepped the turn, and any ace pays you.

In hand 2 value bet 1/2 to 3/4. Let's put it this way. Villains range rarely includes a straight, but often includes two pair, 8x, and broken aces. In this spot 1/2 pot is probably appropriate.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
