Villain is a winning regular don't have any history not sure if he knows me.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($59.25)
Hero (BB) ($50.75)
UTG ($50.10)
MP ($20)
CO ($40)
Button ($53.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, J
3 folds, Button bets $1.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $1

Flop: ($3.25) 5, J, 10 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $2.30, Hero calls $2.30

Turn: ($7.85) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $5.25, Hero calls $5.25

River: ($18.35) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $21, Hero.

it seems incredibly awful to ever bet this big here soooo...uhh im pretty much at the top of my range call? he reps 55(3), TT(3), JJ(1), Q9(16), 97(16) but I think we can defo discount 97/Q9 cuz he prolly just bets the turn bigger with that lol balance. he also never value bets worse like this cuz he clearly fears value cutting himself like every other ssnl reg out there. he's also opening OTB so his range is significantly wider in this spot than if he had opened in say, MP.

what do you guys think?

Fold.

He has to be bluffing here ~35% to make a call break even. He's rarely going to be double barreling that turn card with air, so the only hands he will show up with on the river are missed draws: XsXs, KQ, 9x.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting exploited at 100nl with river over-bet bluffs.

Not a big fan of calling out of the blinds vs a BTN open w/AJo. Yea we are ahead of his opening range, but we are never hitting the flop enough to get paid by worse and it shows in this flop. We have the best flop we can hope for and still don't win anything.

I don't mind a call here in the blinds given reads. but typically this is a good hand to either fold or 3b preflop...
Anyone consider donking this flop? It shows a lot of strength but we know where we stand. And I would say this is a great place to donk the flop since I'm sure we are also donking here with sets?

Nothing wrong with pre jyms. I'd fold river.

Don't necessarily like a 3B pre and don't like to fold = call pre is fine. I play it the same and shrug/fold now

I like to 3bet this hand against tighter opponents and call against looser opponents.

Looks like an easy fold. The amount of guys at 50NL that have the imagination to try to make you fold Jx on this board by overbetting rivers, that are winning enough players to do it selectively and well is pretty damn low. He reps a reasonable amount of value hands here, although his turn sizing does make me wanna call this river more. I can't see this being a bluff enough, bluffs are so likely to just be more regular sized bets here since regs wont try to make you fold top pair here very much and he can fold out the rest of your range by betting way less.

well I would have folded if he bet turn larger actually

I was timing down about to fold but something about his turn sizing in conjunction with his river sizing set off my 'you are full of shit' alarm.

How does he c/c twice on this board with better after calling pre?

That being said, it really doesn't look like we wanna fold & I don't think villain is trying to make us nearly enough of the time to justify a call.

As played, I would bet/fold river somewhat light (1/3 to 1/2 pot). AJ,KJ,QJ are calling and you are getting raised by 2 pair or better.

I think this is pretty much the top of our range, on this particular board, the way it played out. (no 3bet pre, discount QQ+, no flop raise discount JJJ/TTT/555/JT, no turn raise discount straights).

Regardless though, I'd still fold. Not because we're the top of our range, but because its a very obvious board for hands like KQ/AK/AQ to be barreling and it very obviously missed those hands.
