Villain is bad laggrodonk, doubled me up earlier massively bluffing the river with a missed FD vs my OOP AK on a K high flop. Here, draw completes so do I bet for value with bottom set or check behind? If I bet for value can I call a raise or is it b/f? He's tilting a bit since I stacked him.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

MP ($66.70)
CO ($36.35)
Hero (Button) ($115.75)
SB ($53.50)
BB ($9.45)
UTG ($84.95)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4, 4
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, SB bets $3.50, 3 folds, Hero calls $3

Flop: ($8.50) 7, Q, 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $6, SB calls $6

Turn: ($20.50) 6 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $11.50, SB calls $11.50

River: ($43.50) 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero ???

What is the likelihood that the villain you described c/c his FD on the flop? Especially if he's tilting?

c/c with a FD is pretty common on FTP at these stakes

more I think about it, less likely he is to c/r river

I can't see many FDs in his range because he'd have a ton with overs and I can't see why he wouldn't always cbet or c/r flop with them. His hand looks so weak. I bet/call I guess like half pot. But you should be betting a lot stronger on the turn.

I'd probably gaybet/call. Pretty hard for him to have an 8 here I'd think.

8 doesn't do anything

I'd bet slightly over half pot and fold to a shove anyway

He only has 32.5 left on the river. I can't see folding after betting half pot or more.

6, 14, jam.

As played I'd still jam. I feel like these donks are more likely to donk lead river if they hit their flush than check.

You'd be getting something like 14-1 to call his shove, and you'd fold??

I think this is rarely a flush. I'd bet like 15 on the turn and get as much as I could in on the river - jam if you think he might call with worse.

Another option is to bet small (6-8) to induce a shove over. If he's a bad aggrodonk on tilt then it might be worth trying to make him think the flush coming in scares the hell out of your AQ/KQ, in the hope that he tries to take it away from you.

I don't get you people, why wasn't this the only response in the thread?

i would put him allin. the way you describe it make me think hes more likely to not play a flush draw this way up to this point. also the fact that hes bad means he can call with a lot of hands worse than sets

The strengh of a hero is defined by the weakness of his villains.

it depends
are people that limped going to donk off their stacks in a limped pot when we flop a set? if they're that bad then limping is better, even better than having them fold pre sometimes
also you protect yourself from being 3b by the laggrodonk and having to fold your potential set

$3 to call gives me ~17x so, yeah, we're fine. I limped b/c I had 2 limpers before me.

Nevertheless, I still obv butchered this hand postflop.

he has a flush less than 0.1% of the time here so yea, id bet. His far and away most likely hands are TT and JJ so if you have a read he doesn't like making big hero calls then you can just bet smallish.
