Villain looks like a wannabe tag. This is about 80 hands into the session, he's around 17/11/1.5 so far. I'm not sure if I've seen him 3bet at this point (he cbet once in the 200 hands i played overall).

He's a little unusual in that as tight as he is, he's calling about 50% out of the BB (folding all SB's). He hasn't folded to many cbets (40% or so), but the couple hands I've seen at showdown he's had TP w/ decent kicker. These are the only showdown hands I've seen, but looking at stats he's gone to showdown almost 50%, and won a little over 50%. I know this is a small sample, but they still might be telling, if not entirely accurate.

If he's paying any attention, I'm probably seen as a little loose aggressive (not really, but compared to the rest of the table), but not crazy. I've also been stealing a ton (about 70% from BU), so he might be more likely to see me as laggy since it was his blinds I was stealing. fwiw, I'm 23/22/inf at this table.

This is the first time I've noticed him donking, and I usually raise here out of habit. I'm not always sure why (problem I know), but I know I don't want him doing this and thinking I'll keep folding if he does it more. I'm def. folding if he 3bets

When he calls on this flop I think he's got a pocket pair (and most are better than mine), maybe a connector with 5 in it, or high cards thinking i'm FOS and hoping to hit. He probably tosses his complete trash (he does fold 40%).

So I am ahead of some hands, but really confident I'm best.

When the Ace come on the turn the only hands he could have that like that are A high or A5. I'm not sure if he's going to fold many pairs though as he is stationy and at this point I'm basically repping I bluffed the flop and hit the turn if I bet. I'd guess he probably does fold any big cards could have possibly called the flop with if they didn't include the ace.

I thought it was prob just best to hope he is weak enough that he lets me see a free showdown.

Also, flop raise, good or bad on this flop against a this particular time donker?

------

Now that I'm thinking about this more, I think he has a pretty polarized range here and I'm not sure that he'd continue to fire with the weak hands if called. This guy probably check/calls with 5x or low pairs. I now think that the best options here are to call if I think he bluffs often, or just fold (it feels so weak...yuck). If he fires again on turn I can easily fold (this is a cheaper way to find out he likely has a real hand if thats the case), and if not I probably bet for value/protection.

And now I see this post is a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I don't see any point in editing out any thoughts, just in case they are wrong.

well seeing as you turned your hand into a bluff by raising the flop, i'd say you should probably bet the turn, call flop though seriously

You put yourself in a bad spot by bluffing the flop. I'd never ever do that. I'd want to be able to triple barrel if I played it like you did but we can't so I just check now

Until you work out whether you're bluffing or value betting theres not much advice to give.

As played I'd probably check behind the A and evaluate the river. I wouldnt bet if it checked to me.
Just playing to improve.

well, here is definitely the leak. I need to always have a purpose for my play rather than defaulting towards aggression "just because", even if that really is the best play.

thx guys
