We didn't have tons of history here, but I had been very aggressive preflop & he had been calling a lot of them, and had 3-bet a couple times before this (where I'd folded). I have been c-betting most flops with success. He struck me as loose preflop (70/20ish) & somewhat straightforward postflop given how my c-bets were working on flops he wasn't likely to hit. He seemed to be c-betting more often than he was hitting, but it was a small sample so he could just be running hot.
$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
2 players
Converted at weaktight.com
Stacks:
BTN jzkillz ($29.95)
BB Hero ($51.35)
Pre-flop: ($0.75, 2 players) Hero is BB
jzkillz calls $0.25, Hero raises to $2, jzkillz raises to $4.50, Hero calls $2.50
Flop: ($9, 2 players)
Hero checks, jzkillz bets $3, $3 to Hero ($46.85)?
I think I made a mess of this hand, what's the plan here?

id be doubting he had 2 pair but possibly put him on any pp, maybe AJ KJ or A10. id probably call hope to see a diamond on the turn. chances are it will be lower than a jack.
i prob wouldnt want to shove this.
my 2c. will be interested to hear what some more experienced players think.

Raise to like $10 somewhere around there. If he has QQ+ pay the man his money but I think he'll stack off with overs and a gutter and his stack size says I'm never folding TPTK in a 3b pot. If you dont wanna stack off when hit TPTK with AJ fold pre against this guy and his stack size.

I flat but do we get much value betting most turns? If it's like an A I will lead/call but should we be betting a blank turn?

If he's gonna bet such a lame amount on a board we'd expect a lot of straight draws, then I'm just gonna pop him up to $10 or so here and play it for stacks.
If we're calling pre, then we gotta be happy with this flop. he's playing short too, so lets just get it in.

three flats & two raises, eh? I chose the latter. Turn now.
Flop: ($9, 2 players)
Hero checks, jzkillz bets $3, Hero raises to $10, jzkillz calls $7
Turn: ($29, 2 players)
Hero ($36.85)?

id raise flop to 10 with the intention of playing for stacks. On turn just stick it in.

I was really considering doing that, except that it woulda been my first donk lead & I had already c/r'd before so...stay the course and such.

That's exactly what I did, he folded, then I second guessed myself thinking 'hey, maybe he woulda shoved his gutshot on the turn if I woulda checked to him...'

which is why donking here with near the top of our range wouldn't be a good idea.

if it gets shit for respect he'll shove over us
if he gives us respect he'll fold
are you unfamiliar with the "shit for ____" expression?

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Yes he had consistently retarded 3-bet sizing.
