Decided upon friendly advice to drop down a notch to 50 NL, probably not a bad idea until I get a proper grip on the situation.

Villain here is 22/18/6 over 400 hands. Pretty agressive when he raises the pot, often defends his raises, and I felt I had a good chance here. Plenty outs if he has overpair and a fairly good hand if he has AK/AQ, which I thought likely.

Is folding an option? I often see these plays made and it hurts your stack if you miss or villain's got a better hand than you thought, but are they profitable enough?

$0.25/$0.5 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
Hero (UTG) ($44.09)
UTG 1 ($60.07)
CO ($130.35)
BTN ($34.25)
SB ($28.25)
BB ($31.64)

Pre-flop: ($0.75, 6 players) Hero is UTG
Hero calls $0.50, UTG 1 raises to $3, 4 folds, Hero calls $2.50

Flop: ($6.75, 2 players)
Hero bets $5, UTG 1 raises to $16, $11 to Hero ($36.09)?

Limping 98s UTG is lolbad.

Yah as others have said, try not to open limp ever. If you want to play a hand, and you're the first one into the pot. just raise it up.

As played, definitely shove. This is the best flop you can hope for (aside from flopping the nuts) after calling preflop.
