I am 8,000 hands into my first $100 at Absolute, and doubled my stake quad tabling at the 0.1/0.25 NLH 6-max tables. I'm winning, but I keep seeing these nits reraise all-in. Example: I have JJ on the button, raise 4xBB into an unopened pot. I guess this looks like a blind steal, 'cuz the BB rr's all-in (about 150xBB). I have it covered, should I call the shove?
I have been auto-folding (and winning overall), but are these fish? Am I the one losing value? At low stakes NLH, how common is this tactic from good players? And how often do you call an all-in rr w/ pairs like QQ and JJ?

i find every time i show up there with JJ or 10's, sometimes even QQ I am often dominated. They want to make it look like a steal but it is often KK.

these calls become much easier if you're bankrolled properly.
It sounds as if you're playing on a very short roll, or am I reading this incorrectly?

Yes, br is thin, but getting closer. I'm up to $300 br on the site (couple big hands in last hour!!), and their max buy-in at the .1/.25 is $50. Most folks buy-in for half or less of the maximum, so the tables play smaller than their limits. But, yes, because of br, I'm not really thrilled about calling an all-in if there's a big chance of being dominated. Right now, I don't want to pay for the information . I would call relentlessly, however, if I thought it was + EV, especially as br increases. Thanks for any hints you can provide.

even if i was properly bankrolled for a limit i'm not calling with JJ. QQ i might consider calling. exception is if villain is truly a donk.

you need a very specific read on player to make this call.
drop to 10NL and buy-in for a full 200 bb's. you wont see that "move" as often, and if you have been beating the 25's, you will KILL the 10's with a full 200 bb stack.
keep the full stacks on your right, and make sure they are loose (easier to isolate the fish away from the TAGs with pfr's). if they appear tight after 2-3 orbits, MOVE TABLES!
i almost guarantee you, you will win more IN $$'s than at the 25's. the 25's are for practice towards 50 towards 100, and so on. once you get to 50, you will start to match the money, dollar for dollar, that you were making at the 10's. just my .02 because of personal experience. others may call bullshit here, but thats what i have found.

what i am getting at is that if you look at your "winrate" at 10NL it will be much larger than at 25NL. say you run a 12 ptbb/100 at the 10's...and you run a 3 ptbb/100 at 25NL... you are winning more MONEY at the 10's.
if you win at a 12/100 at the 10's, your winrate would have to be a 5/100 at 25NL to make the same money, in dollars.
and, from my experience, it wont be. when you get to 50NL, you only need to run at 2.5/100, and at 100NL, you only need to run at 1.2/100 to make the same amounts OF DOLLARS.
however, when you get to 100, and only need a 1.2/100....you have so much more of an upside. if you get to a 3, at the 100's, you are winning the equivalent of 30 ptbb's/100 at the 10NL level.
you see?
