 Reading ISF's last deep hand he posted motivated me to post a hand I had. I guess it shows that while some ppl may play tighter deep, its also possible to play a lot looser and easier to represent strength with the added stacks. Obviously, trying to get your opp to fold a solid hand needs some sort of reads that they can't fold though.

This hand is different from ISF's given that there is no obvious scare card on board, but I think by the turn I'm pretty certain he has an overpair or some sort of solid hand.

Villain runs about 25/15 and has been playing mostly solid. He has a very high AF so far of 6 but its only over about 400 hands. We haven't had many hands deep together, other than one hand i raised PF with 77 and he had 88. He called my cont bet on a 55A board and we checked down on a 55A52 board.

I must have a set by the time the river action sets in?......

I don't see how I'd play a set differently necessarily. He raised the flop, so I check to the raiser on turn, and c/r him.

The only difference I'd imagine is maybe 3-betting flop.

ur repping an extremely small range. sets are so profitable because nobody ever folds when they think you might have one. if i was actually villian playing this hand real-time i dont think im folding AA, KK, or AQ here. i'd like to think that i would, but i doubt it. actually now that im actually looking at the board, u could be also b repping JT and diamonds, i would prolly snapcall you with high pairs here.

 these are the kind of lines i need to learn how to take. or is it not worth getting creative at 100 or 200NL?

I don't think I would 3-bet a set on this board. The board is so dry, with no draws or anything, so I wouldn't wanna blow villain out of the pot if he was bluff raising with AQ/AK or something. Which can definitely happen a lot depending on villain, if you lead into them on the flop after they raise PF.

I might lead turn with a set, but I figured that if villain was bluff raising the flop, a Q on the turn is a very good scare card for him to bet. So I thought I would go for a c/r.

I think I would take this same line with a set, but I'd be interested in hearing why this would be a bad line if I actually had a set.

 The people who have responded all say they would call, so that would make this a really good line with a set.

Does the fact that villain raised barely over a minraise on the flop mean anything? from experience I'd say this is more likely to mean a slightly weaker hand as you are deep and if he wanted to get the money in he would raise more on the flop so he could get more in on later streets?

 I'm giving up on the river cause he's not.

Your basically trying to fold out AA-KK, AQ, which is hard to do in itself. But even if you do fold them out i'm not even sure those hands are enough of his range. The fact of the matter is he could easily have a FD which means you're just paying him off.

I would be aswell.

I need to be rather sure about the villan before trying to make a move, that said, even then I found that people are better at talking themself into calling rather then folding.

 I don't think this hand is super bad or anything, but i think its probably okay/marginal.

I agree with gabe's assesment but I have to admit that wasn't my initial thought when I read the hand.

 I wouldn't try to rep a set when all draws hit on the river and villain called a small raise on the turn, possibly indicating a draw.

I also like to have a bit more equity when I make a big bluff. The few times you hit your miracle will make the bluff a lot more profitable. This is a somewhat similar weird line bluff that was called down light (snapcalled) because my line didn't make any sense. I was planning to give up river.
