History here was that I had been 3betting CO pretty liberally, this was maybe the 4th time in the last 3 orbits I had done so, though SB really hadn't done anything up til this point which made me think he was pretty strong, though I felt like if I insta-called preflop that I could feign weakness and get him to stack the flop a bit lighter than normal, not sure if that's something I should be trying to do this deep or not. Thoughts on pre and postflop?

SB ($820)
BB ($421.05)
UTG ($426.40)

1 fold, MP bets $14, Hero raises $44, SB raises $110, 2 folds, Hero calls $68

SB bets $116, Hero calls $116

Turn: ($474) 7 (2 players)

i mean it kind of just depends how likely it is you think he's cold 4-bet bluffing. a lot of players never do it as a bluff. i think it's pretty unlikely he's barreling the turn, which pretty much leaves AQ, JJ+, and it seems like a lot of people would try to check AQ here. i think if your read is that he's pretty strong and you had been 3-betting pretty light i kind of like cibbing it pf, and i think he's far more likely to get it in with JJ+/AK pf.

preflop can go either way: flat or make it 230.
postflop you took the best line

Looks fine, with the history I'd 5bet pre.

well played, flatting good here if he's very capable of bluffing pre and/or is aggro and bad post.

If he's not bluffing, do you guys think I'm running into like JJ/QQ really often here? It was basically my feeling preflop that he's holding JJ/QQ/KK/AK.

Suppose I may have just answered my own question and needed to 5b.

Yah it's probably one of those spots where if you think he's narrow enough that you should be folding this turn, then he's narrow enough that you should raise pre.

If he's wide enough to be flatting pre then he's wide enough to be stacking this turn. Once you flat pre I like this turn.

One thing I was concerned about at the time though is that, yeah, I feel his range is JJ+ and AK, but I think he's basically folding everything but KK if I 5b, and sometimes not folding AKs. It's not like we had a ton of history, that's the reason I felt flatting was best at the time, I guess.

Well if you've been so aggressive, and being $800 or so deep, you could 5bet small and hope he goes over the top.

Though flatting obviously is fine.
